ScalableOS is seeking a Security Engineer to provision, manage, and optimize company managed security solutions including endpoints, vulnerability management, and firewall systems. The role supports clients and internal teams with incident response and ongoing technology improvements.

You will review and optimize technology configurations, work with vendors to maximize utilization, and contribute to security best practices while staying current with evolving technologies.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a related field is required.

Job Description:

SUMMARY

As a Security Engineer, you willbe responsible for provisioning, managing, and ensuring optimal operation ofcompany managed solutions, including but not limited to endpoint protection,vulnerability management, and firewall solutions. This position will stay up todate with the latest technology and capabilities, as well as provide escalationand troubleshooting support to company service teams and our clients as needed.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Have and maintain aproficient understanding of company’s managed solutions, security architecture,and how it is designed to operate daily. Manage and maintain these systems on a day-to-day basis.
• Assist with review andevaluation of implemented technology solutions to ensure they are configuredappropriately to company standards, optimized, and being fully utilized. Workwith vendors as needed to ensure optimal utilization.
• Provide advancedtechnical support, remote help desk services, and consultative recommendationsto company clients related to supported applications. Own technicalrelationships with assigned teams and clients where engaged.
• Identify recurringissues within managed networks, systems, and applications, and assist withremediation or elevate within defined procedures, leveraging automation wherepossible to improve efficiency, performance, and reliability.
• Manage competingpriorities and set expectations with stakeholders through proactivecommunication, planning, and potential return on investment.
• Be a point ofescalation within the team to handle and resolve issues, involving directmanagement as needed.
• Respond in a timelymanner to tickets and incidents within established procedures.
• Contribute to bestpractices within the organization, including but not limited to our technologypractice groups, knowledge center, and any assigned committees and groups.
• Stay up to date withrelevant state-of-the-art technology, equipment, and/or systems.
• Accurately maintainand comply with documentation, communication, time entry, and administrativeprocedures in a timely manner.
• Participate in on-callrotation and after hours work as required.
• Attend requiredcompany and departmental meetings.
• Act in accordance withpolicies and procedures as set forth in the Employee Handbook.
• Perform other relatedduties as assigned.

PrimaryResponsibilities:

• Security Engineers maymeet with clients to understand their needs, use vulnerability management toolsto identify weaknesses, develop hardening recommendations, present thoserecommendations, and perform hands‑on remediation such as configuration changesand patching. Their work is often organized into scheduled blocks for specificclients and can be performed autonomously.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education andExperience

• An associate degree incomputer or electrical engineering, computer science, cyber or informationsecurity, or related field.
• 4+ years of experiencewith information technology, up to two years of related education may beconsidered as experience.
• Proven experience withsecurity concepts and technologies.

Licenses andCertifications

• Current vendorcertifications for operating and managing solutions in company’s technologystack or relevant industry experience is required.
• Successful completionof an employment background check including criminal and financial history.

Requirements AndInterview Design:

• Focused onvulnerability remediation, client recommendations, security tooling, andtechnical implementation, with candidates evaluated through two one-hourinterviews rather than a separate technical assessment.

Required TechnicalSkills:

• Identified network andhost-based firewalls, endpoint detection and response, security information andevent management systems, vulnerability management, troubleshooting,operating-system and vulnerability patching, vulnerability remediation,vendor-solution implementation, and Microsoft-oriented network architecture ascore skills. Working knowledge of Python and PowerShell is required.

Role Scope - therole is heavily focused on:

• Vulnerabilityremediation
• Patching operatingsystems and vulnerabilities
• Security tooling andinfrastructure management
• Customer-facingrecommendations and remediation planning
• MSP experience ispreferred but not required.
• Certifications areconsidered beneficial but not mandatory.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
