Job summary

Our Clients is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Same Day Surgery (SDS) Medical Coder to accurately review, assign, and validate outpatient surgical procedure codes. The ideal candidate will have CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS Level II knowledge and be familiar with payer guidelines to ensure compliant reimbursement.

Experience with EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Meditech is preferred, along with strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with SDS or outpatient surgery coding.
• Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10-CM and HCPCS Level II.
• Familiarity with payer guidelines and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Review records to assign accurate diagnosis and procedure codes.
• Code outpatient and ambulatory surgery cases using CPT/ICD-10-CM/HCPCS Level II.
• Ensure compliance with coding guidelines and payer policies.
• Identify documentation gaps and coordinate with providers.
• Apply modifiers for accurate reimbursement.
• Review edits and resolve denials.
• Maintain productivity and quality standards.
• Participate in audits and education sessions.
• Stay updated on coding guidelines and payer policies.
• Collaborate with physicians and revenue cycle teams to improve accuracy.
