Job summary

NCS Philippines is seeking an experienced Scrum Master to support multiple client projects from our Manila team. You will facilitate Scrum ceremonies, coach teams in Agile practices, remove impediments, and help the team deliver high-quality software on time.

You will partner with Product Owners and stakeholders to maintain a transparent backlog, track velocity, and foster continuous improvement in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in IT/CS/Engineering or related field
• Professional Scrum Master or Certified Scrum Master is a plus
• 2–5 years of experience as a Scrum Master in software projects
• Experience with web and mobile applications is desirable
• Deep understanding of Agile principles and Scrum; knowledge of Kanban and XP
• Familiarity with Agile project management tools (Jira, Trello)
• Understanding of SDLC and risk/quality management principles

Responsibilities

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

The Scrum Master is responsible for supporting various clients and projects across our customer base by facilitating retrospective meetings at the end of each sprint/project to ensure the highest priority retrospective points are met to the customer's satisfaction. The primary job duties may include coaching scrum teams in all areas (including sprint reviews and planning), milestone tracking, holding daily stand-up meetings, and collaborating with engineering, product management, and quality control departments to ensure the project is completed according to specifications. Ensures that the team follows the scrum methodology and keeps the team on track, productive, and growing in ability.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Scrum Master (Internal Role)

• Facilitate Scrum events (Daily Scrum, Sprint Planning, Sprint Review, Sprint Retrospective).

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

• Education – At least graduate with a Bachelor’s or Master's Degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or any related course.

  • Professional Scrum Master or Certified Scrum Master certification is a plus

• Related Work Experience – 2-5 years of experience as a Scrum Master, with a proven track record of successfully implementing Scrum in software development projects. Experience with web and mobile applications is highly desirable.

• Knowledge -

  • Deep understanding of Agile principles and Scrum framework.

  • Knowledge of various Agile methodologies (e.g., Kanban, XP).

  • Familiarity with Agile project management tools (e.g., Jira, Trello).

  • Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC).

  • Knowledge of risk management and quality management principles.
