Job summary

Australia and New Zealand Banking Group Limited (ANZ) seeks a Sanctions Capacity & Performance Manager in Manila (Makati/Quezon City) for our Financial Crime Threat Management function. You will lead and support global sanctions investigations, ensure alerts are processed efficiently, and drive improvements aligned with SLAs and AML/CTF policies.

The role requires strong stakeholder management, data-driven MI, and the delivery of impactful initiatives.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience using Active Operations Management (AOM).
• Experience in financial crime, risk or compliance with AML/CTF and sanctions knowledge desirable.
• Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support global sanctions investigations, ensuring alerts and cases meet SLAs and compliance requirements.
• Drive operational discipline through bank-wide tools and frameworks (AOM).
• Provide MI insights and ownership of reporting requirements for the function.

About the Role

As a Sanctions Capacity & Performance Manager within Financial Crime Threat Management, you will be responsible for leading and supporting global sanctions investigations, ensuring alerts and cases are managed accurately, efficiently, and in line with service level agreements and compliance requirements. You will drive operational excellence through stakeholder management, process improvement, performance oversight, and the delivery of initiatives that support business objectives and regulatory obligations.

What will your day look like?

As a Sanctions Capacity & Performance Manager, you will be accountable for:

• Supporting the capacity and performance of global sanctions investigations by ensuring teams across jurisdictions are appropriately resourced to process alerts and cases accurately and within agreed service levels.
• Driving operational discipline through the consistent use of bank-wide tools and frameworks, including AOM.
• Supporting the Sanctions function through data-driven insights and ownership of all MI related requirements of the function.
• Leading periodic Statement of Work (SoW) reviews with internal stakeholders and providing regular SLA reporting to business and compliance teams.
• Maintaining oversight and effective management of all functions performed within FCTM.
• Delivering initiatives that support business priorities and strategic objectives.
• Identifying and implementing process improvement opportunities while ensuring compliance with AML/CTF and sanctions policies.

What will you bring?

To be successful in this role, you will ideally bring:

• Extensive experience using Active Operations Management (AOM).
• Experience within a financial crime, risk, or compliance environment, with AML/CTF and sanctions knowledge highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of banking and financial services products, processes, and procedures.
• Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
• Experience in operations management is preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate data into meaningful insights and stories.
• A customer-focused mindset and strong adaptability in a changing environment.
