Job summary

Manulife in Manila seeks a Trade Operations professional to handle end-to-end trade lifecycle activities, cash management, and reconciliations. You will resolve trade and cash queries, manage operational risks, and drive process improvements with technology partners to enhance data and controls.

The role requires 4+ years in Investment/Wealth or securities, strong English communication, and the ability to work with multi-national teams in a hybrid setup.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics or related field.
• LOMA, Canadian Securities Certification or CFSI preferred; Lean/Six Sigma Yellow Belt trained.
• At least 4 years of relevant experience in Investment/Wealth or securities.
• BPO/Shared Service experience is an asset.
• Strong MS Office, Outlook and Teams skills.
• Experience with Mainframe and form-based applications a plus.
• Excellent English communication and very high attention to detail.
• Interpersonal and time management skills; able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day operations for trade lifecycle, cash mgmt, reconciliation and related functions.
• Communicate and resolve trade and cash queries with Advisors, Call Centre and stakeholders.
• Manage risks related to trades and cash to avoid losses.
• Improve business processes and controls to mitigate risks.
• Provide timely production updates to Management and stakeholders.
• Support projects by researching needs and developing solutions.
• Stay updated on securities/investment industry developments affecting portfolios.

Job description

The role is expected to operate based on understanding of the end to end trade lifecycle from Sales, including Cash Management, Portfolio Reconciliations, Asset Servicing, or any related disciplines. The role incumbent is also required to establish and maintain cordial relationship with various stakeholders, including internal and external parties.

The role performed is expected to be majority knowledge based, and may be manual in nature (low levels of automation).

• Perform day to day operations (may include quality checking) for Trade lifecycle, Cash mgt, reconciliation, corporate action, communications, and credit functions
• Communicate, investigate and resolve trade, cash queries, and issues raised by Advisors, Call Centre, and other stakeholders
• Actively manages risks related to trades and cash to avoid operational losses
• Improve business processes and controls to mitigate operational risks.
• Effectively communicate significant production updates and challenges to Management in a timely manner.
• Drive and assist on process improvements and collaborate with technology partners for data enhancements
• Provide assistance on projects – to meet Management requirements by doing research, identifying needs, and developing/implementing solutions
• Remain current with relevant securities /investments industry developments specifically those impacting the activities of assigned portfolios and/or internal clients and custodial service provider

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics or any related course

LOMA, Canadian Securities Certification or CFSI is preferred. Accounting. LEAN, Six Sigma (Scrum Master), Yellow belt trained/certified

At least 4 year/s relevant professional experience preferably in Investment/Wealth, Securities or similar industry

BPO/Shared Service experience would be an asset due to our collaboration with multi-national teams

Intermediate/ Strong proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook and Teams

Preferably with experience in Mainframe and/or Form based applications

• Excellent communications skills (verbal and written) in English
• Very high attention to detail
• Analytical, research and problem solving skills
• Good exposure and working knowledge of Markets and Investment Products
• Interpersonal skills to interact with, establish relationships with the Business Units.
• Good time management skills with the ability to be flexible to changing environments
