Job summary

Qualifications

• Must have completed Marine Transport education and be graduate in that field.
• Solid shipboard/onboard experience is required.
• Sound knowledge of SOLAS and ISM regulations.
• Aware of different class requirements applicable to vessels.
• Excellent communication skills are required.
• Demonstrates good moral character and professional conduct.

Responsibilities

• Ensures lifesaving and firefighting equipment onboard meets regulations.
• Conducts onboard visits and tests of lifesaving equipment; submits test results to office.
• Checks safety equipment documents and assists renewal processes; reports to Technical Superintendent.
• Conducts safety training for crew during ship visits and records training.
• Investigates incidents on ships and assists Master with reporting and analysis; submits investigation reports.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job description

• Graduate of Marine Transport. HAS SHIPBOARD/ONBOARDING EXPERIENCE (Any vessels).

• Knowledgeable in SOLAS and ISM code

• Aware of different class requirements

• Must possess good communication skill and moral character

Duties:

• Ensures that the Lifesaving and Firefighting equipment are all available onboard as per compliance with the regulations.

• Conduct visit onboard and testing of the Lifesaving and Firefighting equipment and submit the result of testing to the office.

• Check Documents relevant to the Safety equipment and assist the request of the application for the validity of the document (i.e renewal). Assist reporting to the Technical Superintendent the condition of the Lifesaving and Firefighting equipment including the Certificate of the latter.

• During the ship visit, to conduct the safety training to the crew and familiarize them with the Lifesaving and Firefighting equipment. Make a record of the training and submit it to the office for filing.

• To conduct investigation of the incident occurred to the ship and assist the Master in proper reporting and recording of the incident . And to submit the report of the accident/incident investigation and analysis conducted onboard.
