Job summary

DHL Express (Philippines) Corporation is seeking a Safety Officer to lead health and safety management across our facilities in the Philippines. You will develop, implement, and audit policies to ensure compliance with local labor laws and international best practices.

The role requires 2–5 years of safety management experience, OSHC/IOSH or equivalent certification, and strong skills in incident investigation, training, and risk assessment.

Qualifications

• Certification as a Safety Officer or equivalent (OSHC, IOSH or similar recognised certification preferred).
• 2–5 years of experience in health and safety management, preferably in construction, logistics or warehouse environments.
• Knowledge of Philippine Occupational Safety and Health standards and labor legislation.
• Strong hazard identification, risk assessment and control measures.
• Excellent communication and training skills with ability to engage employees at all levels.
• Experience in incident investigation and root cause analysis.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain health and safety policies in line with Philippine laws and international best practices.
• Conduct regular workplace inspections and risk assessments with corrective actions.
• Investigate accidents and near-misses, prepare reports and identify root causes.
• Deliver safety training and inductions for employees, contractors and new hires.
• Monitor compliance and perform audits to ensure standards are met.
• Maintain accurate safety records and prepare management reports.
• Promote a positive safety culture and recognize safety initiatives.
• Coordinate with external agencies and emergency services as required.
• Respond to safety concerns and provide first aid or emergency assistance as needed.

• Respond promptly to safety concerns and emergencies, providing first aid or emergency assistance as needed

Requirements

• Certification as a Safety Officer or equivalent qualification (OSHC, IOSH or similar recognised certification preferred)
• Minimum 2-5 years of experience in health and safety management, preferably in construction, logistics or warehouse environments
• In-depth knowledge of Philippine Occupational Safety and Health standards and relevant labor legislation
• Strong understanding of hazard identification, risk assessment and control measures
• Excellent communication and training skills with the ability to engage effectively with employees at all levels
• Proficiency in incident investigation and root cause analysis methodologies
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and safety management systems
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
• Physical capability to conduct workplace inspections and site visits
• Valid driver's license is advantageous
