Job summary

Century Peak Corporation seeks a licensed Mining/Safety professional to lead safety programs for its mining operations. The role involves drafting and enforcing safety policies, developing emergency response plans, and conducting regular inspections to identify hazards.

The candidate will monitor compliance with Philippine safety standards, manage permits, and provide worker training in PPE use, emergency response, and hazard reporting. Collaboration with management and regulators is essential.

Qualifications

• Licensed Mining Engineer with supervisory experience in mining operations and/or mine safety work.
• Licensed Engineer (other than mining) or Geologist with at least 5 years in mining operations and/or mine safety work.

Responsibilities

• Draft, update, and enforce safety policies and procedures for mining operations.
• Formulate site-specific emergency response and preparedness programs.
• Conduct regular inspections of mine sites, equipment, and operations to identify hazards.
• Perform risk assessments and recommend corrective controls to mitigate hazards.
• Monitor compliance with Philippine safety standards (DENR/MGB MS and DOLE OSH) and related requirements.
• Ensure safety permits (Safety Engineer Permit) are valid and renewed.
• Provide safety orientation and training to workers (PPE, emergency response, hazard reporting).
• Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and corrective actions.
• Maintain tail safety records and progress reports.
• Collaborate with Mine Management, Supervisors, Contractors and regulators on safety matters.
• Communicate safety performance updates and improvement plans to stakeholders.

2. Formulate a site‑specific emergency response and preparedness program.

5. Monitor compliance with Philippine safety standards such as DENR/MGB Mine Safety and Health Standards (e.g., DAO 20 0-98) and DOLE OSH requirements.
6. Ensure safety and health permits (Safety Engineer Permit) are valid and renewed as required.
