Safety & Disaster Management Officer
Reports to
Head, Safety & Disaster Management
Job Purpose
Plan, implement and evaluate all safety and disaster management programs and initiatives for the Bank; and, ensure institutional compliance to related Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) law and standards.
Main Accountabilities
- Review existing safety policies and programs and provide recommendations or new insights and develop programs based on current laws, trends and best practices.
- Review safety standards, policies and procedures to ensure compliance to DOLE-Bureau of Working Conditions (BWC) and other government agencies. SDM Officer works in collaboration with other FSG Department.
- Conduct safety inspection and disaster prevention related trainings.
- Acts as Assistant Lead for Emergency Operations and Disaster Response.
- Assist the Safety Head in overseeing the implementing guidelines and OSH standards mandated by law.
- Assume the role as the interim Head in the event the SDM head is on leave/out of office indefinitely/temporarily.
- Minimum of 3 years experience as Safety Officer II.
Decision Making
- Approves the Job Hazard Analysis of 3rd Party Contractors.
- Approves safety action plans as deemed necessary.
- Endorses the implementation of safety programs to the Chief Safety Officer.
- Endorses the DOLE-related reports to the Chief Safety Officer.
- Endorses the financial component of the safety budget and related initiatives.
Knowledge, Skills, Attributes & Experience
- Knowledge: Completed at least the Basic Occupational Safety & Health Training; At least a Safety Officer II (40 Hours training); Demonstrable knowledge of safety and/or security practices.
- Skills: Analytical with good problem-solving aptitude; Organizational and leadership skills.
- Attributes: Able to adapt in fast paced working environment with urgency and accuracy.
- Experience: 3 years; Proven experience in Safety and/or Disaster Management work.
- Minimum PC skills: MS Word, MS Powerpoint, MS Excel. Other though unspecified.
- Additional Requirements: Minimum of 40 hours of Safety-related courses from DOLE-accredited training centers; Certified First Aider training from Red Cross is an advantage.
