Qualifications

• Graduate of B.S. Medical Technology and licensed Medical Technologist.
• 6 months to 1 year experience in phlebotomy or related lab work.
• Able to properly collect, label, and transport specimens with attention to safety.

Responsibilities

• Verifies patient’s information.
• Assesses test requests to ensure no discrepancies, missing or duplicates.
• Verifies patient’s diet restrictions and reviews medical history when applicable.
• Reassures patients and clearly explains the procedure.
• Obtains blood specimens by performing venipuncture and skin puncture.

• Verifies patient’s information
• Assess patient’s test request to ensure that there are no discrepancies, missing or duplicates in the test order.
• Verifies patient’s diet restrictions including intake of drugs and prudently interviews patient’s personal and family medical history, as well as if there are any present signs and symptoms.
• Reassures patients if they are nervous or distressed. Clearly explains the procedure to patient.
• Obtains blood specimens by performing proper venipuncture and skin puncture technique.

Job Qualification

• Graduate of B.S. Medical Technology
• Licensed Medical Technologist
• With at least 6 months to 1 year experience is a plus
• With good blood extraction
• Patient oriented and punctual
