At 2X, the RevOps Development Architect is the technical backbone of the Revenue Operations practice — a senior individual contributor who owns the architectural vision and engineering standards that make scalable, compliant, and user-friendly GTM systems possible. This is not a role for someone who executes on others' blueprints; this is the person who draws the blueprints and then ensures every custom solution built across the practice meets that bar.
You will architect, build, and govern the infrastructure that powers client GTM motions — from complex API-driven integrations spanning CRM, MAP, and CMS platforms to custom automation frameworks that eliminate manual friction and surface data with precision. You will define technical standards, lead modernization strategy conversations with clients, and ensure that every solution your team delivers is built to scale. Your work directly enables client revenue teams to operate faster, smarter, and with higher confidence in their data and systems.
As an Expert-level architect, you also carry a consultative mandate — advising clients on GTM tech stack rationalization, guiding internal engineers on implementation best practices, and contributing to the evolution of 2X's technical capabilities as AI-enabled delivery becomes standard practice. You are the senior technical voice in the room.
Job Responsibilities
- Architect scalable GTM infrastructure across CRM, MAP, CMS, and adjacent platforms — designing systems that handle complex client environments with performance, reliability, and maintainability in mind.
- Own the technical standards and development frameworks used by the RevOps practice — setting coding conventions, integration patterns, and governance guardrails that every custom solution must meet.
- Lead custom development initiatives including complex workflow automation, proprietary scripts, and bespoke integrations that require senior engineering judgment and architectural oversight.
- Drive API-driven integration design across the GTM tech stack — from initial scoping and authentication architecture to data mapping, error handling, and ongoing performance monitoring.
- Define and enforce compliance and data governance practices — ensuring all custom-built solutions adhere to data privacy regulations, security standards, and client-specific governance requirements.
- Lead website build and technical execution projects — overseeing custom development for microsites, landing pages, and web infrastructure components that tie into broader marketing and revenue operations.
- Govern system performance and scalability — proactively identifying technical debt, latency risks, and single points of failure across client environments, and architecting remediation plans.
- Advise clients on GTM technology modernization strategies — translating business objectives into phased technical roadmaps that balance innovation with operational stability.
- Shape AI-enabled delivery within the practice — integrating agentic tools and automation frameworks into the development workflow to accelerate output quality and reduce time to-value.
Your Mindset
- AI-Forward: Demonstrates hands-on experience using AI tools to improve the quality or speed of their work — whether in drafting, analysis, research, reporting, or workflow automation. Identifies where AI applies without being prompted and can point to specific ways it has changed how they operate.
- Outcome-Driven: Anchors every decision in measurable business impact. Moves beyond activity and output metrics to focus on the results that matter — to the client, to the portfolio, and to 2X's ability to demonstrate value.
- Strategically Grounded: Connects execution to business objectives before designing any plan. Understands the why before the how — and can articulate how their work moves the needle on what the client actually cares about.
- Client-Obsessed: Earns trust by making complexity feel simple and delivery feel consistent. Whether client-facing or working behind the scenes, everything they do has to hold up to the question: does this serve the client's success?
- Builder Mentality: Doesn't just execute — improves the systems, processes, and capabilities that make execution better for everyone. Sees gaps as opportunities, not someone else's problem. Leaves things better than they found them.
- Collaborative by Nature: Defaults to integration over isolation. Shares context proactively, seeks input before finalizing, and makes cross-functional teams more effective just by being in them. Influence doesn't require authority.
- Craft-Uncompromising: Holds their craft to an uncompromising standard — whether that's content quality, visual precision, analytical rigor, or code integrity. Knows the difference between good and great, and advocates for the gap to be closed rather than rationalized away. Quality is a business argument, not just a professional preference.
- Performance-Obsessed: Driven by the metrics that connect to real business outcomes — not vanity numbers. Tracks performance against meaningful benchmarks, spots drift early, and pivots without ego when the data points elsewhere. Doesn't confuse activity with impact.
- Platform-Fluent: Moves fluidly across the relevant technology stack without being locked to any single tool. Evaluates platforms on fit for purpose, brings structured thinking to configuration and integration decisions, and doesn't let unfamiliar tooling become a blocker.
- Architecturally Rigorous: Brings precision and method to every system design. Defines the architecture before writing a line of configuration, validates decisions against scale requirements, and documents clearly enough that the next person can maintain what was built.
Job Qualifications
- 8-12+ years progressive experience in revenue operations, marketing technology, or GTM systems engineering — with at least 3-5 years in a senior technical architect or lead developer capacity. Strong candidates with fewer years but equivalent technical depth are encouraged to apply.
- Deep hands-on development experience (Salesforce, HubSpot); working proficiency in at least one marketing automation platform (Marketo, Pardot, Eloqua), and one CMS/web platform. Experience across multiple platforms in each category is a plus.
- Advanced expertise in API-driven integrations — REST, GraphQL, webhooks — with demonstrated ability to design and implement production-grade connections across complex, multi-system environments.
- Proven experience designing and enforcing data governance frameworks, compliance architectures, and security controls within marketing or sales technology contexts.
- Experience working in a B2B marketing services, agency, or managed services environment — understanding how to balance technical excellence with client timeline and budget realities.
- Demonstrated experience leading technical modernization engagements — including tech stack audits, migration planning, and stakeholder alignment across complex client organizations.
- Comfortable integrating AI/agentic tools into development workflows — with an informed perspective on where automation amplifies quality and where human judgment is irreplaceable.
