Job summary

Caylabne Bay Resort & Marina is seeking a proactive Grounds Maintenance and Landscaping Staff to maintain outdoor areas at our Cavite site. This full-time on-site role supports safe, clean, and attractive surroundings for guests and colleagues, with on-the-job training available for fresh graduates.

Responsibilities include preparing land, planting, pruning, lawn care, equipment maintenance, waste segregation, and basic repairs, contributing to a well-kept resort environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare land for landscaping, planting, and grounds maintenance activities.
• Follow landscaping designs in accordance with design and supervisor's instructions;
• Plant seeds, bulbs, foliage, flowering plants, grass, and trees to improve landscape.
• Trim or prune shrubs, trees, and other vegetation using hand/power tools.
• Install and secure tree support systems for newly planted trees.
• Cultivate lawns, gardens and landscaped areas.
• Perform lawn care: mulching, aerating, weeding, dethatching, trimming, edging.
• Water lawns, trees, or plants.
• Apply fertilizers, herbicides, or insecticides.
• Use and maintain hand tools safely and efficiently.
• Operate landscaping equipment like mowers, trimmers, tractors.
• Mow, trim, and edge lawns for neat appearance.
• Clean and maintain flower beds and landscaped areas.
• Remove debris and waste from work areas; segregate waste.
• Properly dispose of litter and compost biodegradable materials.
• Perform routine maintenance on tools and irrigation systems.
• Decorate landscape areas with hardscape materials.
• Monitor and report plant growth and conditions.
• Inspect equipment and report issues to supervisor.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Company.

JOB PURPOSE:

The Resort and Grounds Maintenance and Landscaping Staff is responsible for maintaining the resort's outdoor areas to ensure they remain safe, clean, attractive, and well-maintained. The role involves performing a variety of landscaping and grounds maintenance tasks, including the care of gardens, lawns, trees, shrubs, and other plantings, while contributing to a pleasant and functional environment for guests, employees, and visitors.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare land for landscaping, planting, and other grounds maintenance activities.
• Follow landscaping designs in accordance with the landscape architects' design and the supervisor's instructions;
• Plant seeds, bulbs, foliage, flowering plants, grass, groundcovers, trees, or shrubs using appropriate gardening tools and techniques to improve landscape;
• Trim or pick flowers, trim or prune shrubs, trees, and other vegetation using appropriate hand and power tools;
• Install and secure tree support systems, including stakes, guy wires, or tripods, to protect and stabilize newly planted trees;
• Cultivate lawns, gardens and landscaped areas;
• Perform lawn care activities, including mulching, aerating, weeding, grubbing, dethatching, trimming, edging, and maintaining flower beds, walkways, and walls;
• Water lawns, trees, or plants, using a portable sprinkler system, hoses, or watering containers;
• Prepare and apply fertilizers, herbicides, or insecticides onto grass, shrubs, or trees, using hand or automatic sprayers or spreaders;
• Use and maintain hand tools, such as spades, shovels, rakes, pruning saws, saws, hedge or brush trimmers, or axes safely and efficiently;
• Operate and maintain landscaping equipment and machinery, including lawn mowers, grass cutters, blowers, chainsaws, electric clippers, tractors, and other powered equipment;
• Mow, trim, and edge lawns to maintain a neat and attractive appearance;
• Clean and maintain flower beds, plant boxes, plant pots, landscaped areas, and other outdoor facilities;
• Remove leaves, branches, and other debris from work areas through raking and proper disposal;
• Collect, segregate, and properly dispose of litter, waste materials, and trash;
• Segregate waste into biodegradable and non-biodegradable materials;
• Place kitchen waste and other biodegradable materials into designated composting bins;
• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs of landscaping tools, equipment, irrigation systems, fences, benches, and other outdoor structures to ensure they remain in good working condition;
• Decorate indoor and outdoor landscaped areas with hardscape materials such as stones, pavers, decorative pots, and similar features;
• Monitor, record, and report the growth, condition, and development of plants and landscaped areas;
• Inspect, record, and report the condition of landscaping equipment, facilities, and outdoor structures;
• Promptly report any maintenance issues, hazards, equipment defects, or other problems encountered in the work area to the immediate supervisor; and
• Perform other related duties that may be assigned by the Company from time to time.
