Private Advertiser in Metro Manila is seeking a Building Facilities Engineer to oversee the operation, maintenance, safety, and efficiency of building systems. The role involves supervising maintenance staff and coordinating with contractors to ensure compliance with safety standards.

The candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in engineering and 2–3 years of relevant experience, with knowledge of electrical/plumbing systems, fire protection, and preventive maintenance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Preferably licensed engineer, depending on regulatory requirements.
  • 2–3 years of relevant experience in building operations, facilities management, or engineering maintenance.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems, plumbing, generators, pumps, fire detection and alarm system, fire suppression system, elevators, preventive and corrective maintenance.
  • Contractor and maintenance supervision experience.
  • Ability to prepare maintenance reports, equipment records, budgets, inventories and utility consumption reports.
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices and basic building safety requirements.
  • Good troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiar with building safety and government compliance.
  • Good communication and trouble shooting skills; coordinating with unit owners, contractors and management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic engineering/maintenance documentation.
  • Willing to work on a shifting schedule, weekends, holidays, or during emergencies when required.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain building facilities, equipment, and engineering systems, including electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, fire protection, and other building systems
  • Conduct regular inspections of building facilities and equipment to identify defects, potential hazards, and maintenance requirements
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance and ensure timely resolution of equipment and facility concerns
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns, emergencies, and technical concerns and coordinate appropriate corrective actions
  • Supervise and coordinate contractors, service providers, and maintenance personnel
  • Monitor the implementation of preventive maintenance schedules and ensure proper documentation of maintenance activities
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment, maintenance activities, inspections, repairs, and service reports
  • Ensure that building facilities comply with applicable safety, environmental, and engineering standards and regulations
  • Assist in monitoring utility consumption, including electricity and water, and recommend measures to improve efficiency and reduce operating costs
  • Coordinate with building administration, security, housekeeping, tenants, and other departments regarding facility and engineering concerns

Job description
