Job summary

Century Pacific Food, Inc. is seeking an R&D Specialist to support product prototyping, sensory evaluation, and documentation of specifications.

Under supervision, you will modify existing products for quality and profitability, test ingredients and packaging, establish product/process specs, and conduct literature searches for assigned projects. This role requires a BS in Food Technology and 1–2 years in R&D or product development in a food manufacturing company, with a passion for food

Qualifications

• BS Food Technology or related sciences.
• 1–2 years in R&D or product development in a food manufacturing company; dairy or alternative proteins a plus.
• Working knowledge of food chemistry, microbiology and engineering.
• Working knowledge of sensory evaluation for new product and process development.
• Eye for detail and passion for food creativity.

Job Summary

Under supervision, the R&D Specialist performs product prototyping using given formula and processes, as well as carry out standard procedures in conducting sensory evaluation activities, raw material selection, testing, and documentation of specifications.

Basic Job Responsibilities

• Prepare product prototypes compliant with regulatory agencies
• Prepare product costing analysis to ensure that products are within the target cost
• Develop and carry out standard procedures in the conduct of product quality and product acceptability tests
• Modify existing products for quality and profitability improvements
• Test and select ingredients and packaging materials for the specific project assigned
• Establish and document product and process specifications
• Conduct literature searches or access international databases related to assigned projects

Job Qualifications

• Graduate of BS Food Technology and/or other related sciences
• With at least 1 to 2 years of experience in R&D or Product Development in food manufacturing company. Previous exposure to dairy, alternative proteins, or raw materials an advantage.
• Working knowledge of food chemistry, microbiology and engineering
• Working knowledge of sensory evaluation to serve as guide in new product and process development
• With an eye for detail and passion for food creativity
