Job summary

Alta Peaks Philippines Inc. seeks a detail-oriented Accountant to support a US-based client, leveraging US GAAP knowledge and hands-on QuickBooks Online or Xero proficiency to maintain accurate financial records and reporting.

You will manage GL entries, reconciliations, AP/AR, and month-end close, collaborating with the US team. CPA preferred; strong Excel/Google Sheets skills required for analysis and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of professional experience handling US accounting or US-based client accounts.
• Strong working knowledge of US GAAP and US accounting practices.
• Hands-on proficiency in QuickBooks Online or Xero is required.
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, financial reporting, reconciliations, AP/AR, and month-end closing processes.
• Familiarity with IFRS is an advantage.
• CPA or relevant certification preferred.
• Proficient in Excel, Google Sheets, and other accounting applications.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• High accuracy and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping activities for a US-based business.
• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger entries and journal entries.
• Perform monthly bank, credit card, and account reconciliations.
• Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
• Manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR), including invoice processing, payment tracking, and collections follow-ups.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
• Ensure financial transactions and reporting comply with US GAAP.
• Monitor financial transactions, identify discrepancies, and recommend corrective actions.
• Assist in preparing financial documentation and schedules for tax filings, audits, and compliance requirements.
• Maintain organized accounting records and supporting documentation.
• Collaborate with the US-based client and relevant stakeholders regarding financial reports, accounting concerns, and operational requirements.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting accuracy, and financial workflows.
