Job summary

Chainlink Labs is seeking a Senior SRE to accelerate and empower engineering teams by increasing self-service and reducing cognitive load. You will help build and maintain an mature GitOps and observability environment across the company.

The role focuses on reliability, security, and performance, with opportunities to scale real-time data pipelines and dashboards in a global, remote setting.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional experience in devops, infrastructure, SRE, or platform teams.
• Ability to develop software beyond typical infrastructure requirements and configurations.
• Experience programming in C, C++, Java, Python, Go, Perl, or Ruby.
• Expert knowledge in designing, developing, and managing large real-time systems.
• Experience with monitoring and logging using Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/Splunk equivalents.
• Experience with distributed systems and Kubernetes clusters.
• Strong communication skills and collaboration in planning meetings and code reviews.

Responsibilities

• Build and orchestrate Modern OTEL-based Observability Platform.
• Support telemetry types: metrics, logs and traces.
• Define and support modern governance in observability and problems at scale.
• Ensure reliability, security, and performance exceed our defined SLAs.
• Collaborate with engineers to troubleshoot issues, deploy new products and services, and increase velocity while decreasing cognitive load.
• Lead the design and deployment of monitoring/observability services to detect and alert needed actions.
• Ingest, aggregate, transform, and utilize data from multiple sources in real-time data pipeline.
• Oversee availability, performance, and supportability of observability infrastructure.
• Create processes around alert response operations and ensure reliable delivery of oracle data.
• Make recommendations to ensure metrics are collected to create alerts with each feature release.
• Champion reliability and security by doing it right the first time.
