Job summary

Lago Staffing and Recruiting seeks a Senior AI/ML Engineer to drive inventory forecasting and decision systems. This senior, individual-contributor role delivers end-to-end ML in a remote setting with a business impact across forecasting and pricing decisions.

Responsibilities include building forecasting models, end-to-end ML delivery, data pipelines, and integrating external and internal data sources. Candidates should ship models and handle real-world data with rigor.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Python experience in production ML systems.
• Deep experience with statistical modeling and feature engineering.
• Expertise in time-series modeling and forecasting.
• Proven track record shipping ML models that drive business decisions.
• Experience with API integration and data pipeline architecture.
• Hands-on with LLM/AI-agent workflows.
• Ability to validate models rigorously (LOO, backtesting, production vs offline).
• Self-directed in a fast-evolving small team.

Responsibilities

• Build and improve inventory demand forecasting models.
• Own ML models end-to-end: data collection → feature engineering → training → deployment → monitoring → iteration.
• Develop decision systems for inventory planning, pricing, and demand decisions.
• Build and maintain data pipelines and API integrations for external and internal data sources.
• Work with messy real-world data to ensure model reliability through rigorous validation and testing.
• Implement LLM/AI-agent workflows to translate domain logic into automated processes.
• Operate independently in a small team, setting priorities, unblocking challenges, and communicating tradeoffs clearly.
