Job summary

Caylent, a fully remote global cloud services company, seeks an exceptional Senior Engineering Manager to lead our Cloud Native Applications team. You will guide software engineers, architects, and PMs on AI-first, production-ready solutions for our largest client engagements, balancing technical leadership with client-facing responsibilities.

You will mentor teams, drive architectural decisions, and collaborate with sales and PMs to deliver scalable, secure cloud-native applications using AWS,

Qualifications

• 8+ years of proven experience in software development and AWS cloud-native systems.
• 4+ years of previous experience managing a team of technical direct reports.
• Experience leading teams through large-scale or highly complex engagements.
• Strong background in established engineering practices and scalable architectures.
• Proficiency across multiple backend languages (Python, Node.js, C#, TypeScript) and frontend frameworks (React, Vue, MVC, .NET).
• Learning and building with AI for productivity and client solutions.
• Deep experience with AWS and relational/noSQL databases.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of 5-8 direct reports including software engineers and architects.
• Lead software development teams to deliver AI-first, production-ready solutions at scale.
• Own technical requirements gathering, decisions, and architectural direction.
• Lead discovery sessions with client stakeholders to translate requirements into a backlog.
• Create and defend architecture diagrams to engineering teams and client leadership.
• Coach teammates and share practices for leading high-stakes engagements.
• Maintain status reporting and communications with client leadership.
