Job summary

EPAM Systems is seeking an SAP Basis System Architect to drive architecture design, modernization and operations across hybrid SAP landscapes. You will lead SAP S/4HANA, RISE with SAP, and cloud transformation programs while collaborating with global teams to establish governance, security and performance strategies.

The role emphasizes HA/DR, automation, and Clean Core practices, with remote work from Spain and engagement with Azure/AWS/GCP environments.

Qualifications

• Extensive SAP Basis administration experience with leadership in architecture.
• SAP S/4HANA, SAP NetWeaver and SAP HANA expertise.
• Knowledge of SAP Cloud ALM, SAP Solution Manager, and SAP Focused Run.
• Experience with SAP Landscape Management and RISE with SAP.
• Proficiency in high availability, DR and performance engineering.
• Understanding SAP security frameworks including SSO, TLS/certificates and IAM concepts.
• Familiarity with cloud infra (Azure, AWS, GCP) and container tech (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience defining governance models, architecture patterns and automation strategies.
• Knowledge of DevOps practices and monitoring in SAP environments.

Responsibilities

• Define SAP platform architecture standards and governance frameworks.
• Design SAP S/4HANA landscapes for on-prem, private, and public clouds.
• Lead RISE with SAP migration and cloud transformation programs.
• Architect HA and DR solutions for mission-critical systems.
• Develop SAP sizing and performance strategies.
• Define transport and landscape management aligned with DevOps.
• Establish SAP security architecture and compliance controls.
• Drive SAP Basis modernization and Clean Core enforcement.
• Implement monitoring and observability via SAP Cloud ALM.
• Define automation approaches for provisioning and ops processes.
• Support hyperscaler deployments across Azure, AWS, GCP.
• Provide technical leadership during upgrades, migrations and conversions.
