Job summary

HedgeServ is seeking a Python Developer to design, build, and maintain applications for internal and external clients. You will work with developers, QA, and operations to ensure a reliable development and deployment pipeline, focusing on Python-based systems.

The ideal candidate has strong OO programming experience, exposure to AWS services, and a track record with RESTful APIs and distributed architectures in a team-oriented, agile environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or related field.
• Experience with object-oriented programming, preferably Python.
• Experience with version control systems.
• Experience with unit and acceptance testing, especially Test-Driven Development (TDD).
• Hands-on experience with SQL and/or MongoDB.
• Familiarity with building RESTful APIs and distributed systems.
• Understanding of Agile practices and values.
• Familiarity with AWS services such as SQS, S3, and SNS.
• Experience collaborating across teams on cross-platform initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Write clean, maintainable, and high-quality code with a strong focus on code review, pairing, and continuous delivery.
• Collaborate with QA and business analysts to create and maintain automated tests and improve testing tools.
• Partner with operations teams to ensure applications run effectively and efficiently in production.
• Work across teams to understand business needs, improve technical practices, and support platform-wide solutions.
• Participate in design discussions for future development and system evolution.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely manner with a focus on reliability and scalability.
