Job summary

MicroSourcing is seeking a Mechanical Designer working remotely, night shift, with strong HVAC design skills and HVAC systems coordination. You will develop ductwork, hydronic layouts, and HVAC equipment sizing, ensuring compliance with building codes and ASHRAE standards.

The role requires a Mechanical Engineering degree and experience with Carrier HAP and Revit. Remote work from the Philippines, with opportunities for growth and a supportive, inclusive team culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Proficiency with Carrier HAP for HVAC cooling load calculations.
• Ability to develop ventilation calculations per building/mechanical codes and ASHRAE standards.
• Ability to perform duct sizing and hydronic piping sizing for HVAC systems.
• Experience coordinating mechanical designs with other MEP disciplines and trades.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate knowledge of applicable building codes, mechanical codes, ASHRAE and NFPA standards.
• Utilize or learn Revit to design and implement projects.
• Produce HVAC zoning plans and layouts for equipment, ducts, and hydronic piping.
• Size and route ductwork through ceilings and coordinate with structural models.
• Coordinate mechanical systems with architectural, structural, electrical, plumbing and fire protection teams.
• Develop equipment and system specifications and schedules.
• Develop HVAC cooling load calculations using Carrier HAP.
• Develop ventilation calculations compliant with codes and standards.
• Select and size HVAC equipment based on loads and project needs.
• Review submittals for compliance with design intent.
• Respond to RFIs accurately and promptly.
• Prepare coordinated HVAC engineering designs and construction documents.
• Support team members for on-time, high-quality project delivery.
