Job summary

Staffberry Careers seeks a Mechanical Draftsperson for a leading building materials company. The role focuses on producing accurate shop drawings, ensuring compliance with specifications, and supporting sales with drawings and product information.

You will work with the Engineering team to meet structural requirements and contribute to new product launches, with a remote setup and a 40-hour week schedule.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Mechanical Drafting/Design experience.
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• SolidWorks experience preferred.
• Experience with processes and process equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and well organized.
• Familiarity with Australian industrial standards a plus.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to explain technical concepts clearly.

Responsibilities

• Produce accurate shop drawings within designated time frames.
• Ensure shop drawings comply with relevant specifications.
• Identify potential safety or operational issues and provide solutions.
• Work with Engineering Team to meet structural design requirements.
• Actively support Sales with drawings, BOMs, and product information.
• Assist in product design, optimization and costing support.
• Support new product launches through the design process.
• Build relationships with suppliers, peak bodies and certifiers.
