Job summary

Cohere is seeking a skilled engineer to build and maintain integrations on the North AI platform. You will own the end-to-end integration process, collaborate with fellow engineers, and create evals to ensure reliability as the platform evolves.

You will work with external APIs, tune tool descriptions, and leverage prompt engineering to improve capabilities while delivering high-quality, scalable solutions in a remote-friendly environment.

Qualifications

• Shipped production code and integration with external APIs.
• Experience evaluating agentic systems or understanding evals.
• Ability to work in fast-paced environments and adapt to changing priorities.
• Strong ownership mindset and focus on quality of shipping work.
• Ability to help teammates succeed and raise engineering bar.
• Comfort with prompt engineering and tool-description tuning.

Responsibilities

• Build new integrations on the North agentic platform and maintain existing ones.
• Own the integration pipeline end-to-end from design to shipping and maintenance.
• Help other engineers add integrations and raise the team's standards.
• Create evals and tests to ensure integrations work as expected and alert on regressions.
• Tune tool descriptions to improve performance based on feedback and evals.
• Use AI actively in your work while maintaining quality and reliability.
