Job summary

AdventHealth is seeking a Clinical Documentation Integrity professional to analyze medical records for HCC accuracy and educate providers on proper documentation. The role acts as a subject matter expert in coding practices and collaborates with cross-functional teams to improve processes.

Primary duties include supporting CDI program development, ensuring MEAT criteria, and staying current with ICD-10-CM guidelines while maintaining privacy compliance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of coding experience or clinical documentation reviews and provider education.
• Licensing: RHIT, CCS, CRC, CDIP, CCDS-O, CCDS, or CPC certifications required.
• Technical/vocational training required; bachelor's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes medical record documentation for HCC accuracy and educational opportunities.
• Educates physicians and providers on accurate, complete documentation.
• Serves as SME in coding best practices for internal and external partners.
• Participates in program development, execution, and performance.
• Assists CDI team with process improvements to enhance coding goals.
• Evaluates records to ensure MEAT criteria support submitted codes.
• Collaborates with operational leadership in matrix relationships.
• Provides direction to Risk Adjustment Specialists and cross-functional teams.
• Keeps current knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CMS HCC Model, and related regulations.
• Manages routine tasks and compliance with privacy laws.
• Uses data analytics to report metrics and trends.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
