Job summary

PhoenixNAP is an IT Services Company offering global network operations roles. The Network Engineer will manage and optimize large-scale infrastructures across data centers worldwide, ensuring security, reliability, and high availability.

Remote role with a 40-hour work week and call rotations. The ideal candidate has a BSc and CCNP or equivalent, 4+ years in enterprise networks, and strong IPv6, routing, switching, VPN, and DDoS expertise, plus VMware NSX knowledge and excellent communication

Qualifications

BSc degree or CCNP certification.
4+ years' experience in Enterprise Networks.
Experience with WAN enterprise hardware and solid understanding of Global Networks and Peering.
Experience with system lifecycle management such as software/hardware upgrades from remote locations.
Extensive knowledge of IPv6 and migration methods.
Extensive knowledge of Routing Protocols, Switching, Security and VPN.
Extensive knowledge of DDoS Protection systems.
Working knowledge of VMware NSX components.
Strong business orientation with a demonstrated knowledge of the IT industry.
Ability to communicate with and understand the needs of non-technical internal and external clients.
Fluent in English.

Responsibilities

Overall responsibility for network operations and maintenance of all systems to ensure CWIE/CCBill/phoenixNAP guidelines and industry best practices.
Troubleshoot connectivity issues to minimize downtime.
Act as last line of support function and provide assistance to other employees and NOC.
Utilize network management systems to monitor, diagnose, control, and measure network performance, ensuring proactive issue resolution and optimization.
Strives for continuous improvement to ensure that the network infrastructure attains maximum performance, security, and availability.
Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including configurations, interconnections, processes, and service records, to ensure accurate tracking of maintenance and system changes.
