Job summary

ClientEarth in the Philippines seeks a lawyer qualified in the country with forest governance experience to contribute to our new programme on Food, Ocean and Land Use (FOLU) in Japan and Southeast Asia. The successful candidate will advance forest governance, focusing on social forestry, IPLCs rights and biodiversity protection.

You will engage with government agencies, CSOs and Indigenous Peoples and local communities to support research, legal analysis, stakeholder engagement and capacity

Qualifications

• Fluent in Filipino and English (CEFR C2).
• Qualified legal professional in the Philippines.
• Knowledge of forest governance, IPLC rights and biodiversity protection.

Responsibilities

• Conduct legal research and policy analysis on forest governance.
• Support strategy development for Philippines country priorities and alignment with regional goals.
• Engage with government agencies, CSOs, donors and IPLCs.
