Job summary

Hadley Designs is seeking a Strategic Finance Director to own the finance function, build scalable systems, manage cash flow, and drive profitability for growth. You’ll partner with leadership to implement cost controls, forecasting, and strategic initiatives that support Hadley Designs’ mission.

You will develop dashboards, SOPs, and automation, while guiding cross-functional teams toward durable, data-driven expansion in a remote-first environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (MBA or CPA strongly preferred).
• 5+ years in finance or accounting, including 3+ years in leadership.
• Proven success in budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
• Experience implementing scalable systems and automation in growing organizations.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, compliance, and tax standards.
• Proficiency with Xero, QuickBooks, or advanced Excel/Google Sheets.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills; you turn complexity into clarity.
• Experience in e-commerce or multi-channel retail (preferred).
• Collaborative mindset and the confidence to influence executive-level decisions.

Responsibilities

• Deliver accurate, audit-ready financials by the 20th of each month with full account reconciliation.
• Build and maintain a 12-month rolling cash forecast, updated weekly.
• Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process across all departments.
• Develop automated systems and workflows that reduce manual reporting time by at least 25% in Year 1.
• Partner with leadership to implement initiatives that increase profitability and improve EBITDA.
• Create and document SOPs for close, forecasting, cash flow, and reporting processes.
• Implement new systems for expense management, travel, and purchasing by Month 6.
• Produce insightful financial dashboards and KPIs for decision-making.
• Partner cross-functionally with Product, Sales, and Operations to align growth, cash flow, and inventory planning.
• Evaluate technology solutions (ERP, reporting tools) that prepare the company for scale.
