Job summary

TE Connectivity is seeking a Staff Field Application Engineer for a remote role in Southern California to support Aerospace, Defense and Marine customers. You will act as a technical liaison, guiding product applications and integrating TE’s solutions with customer requirements.

In this role, you will collaborate with sales and engineering teams, identify new opportunities, and ensure high-quality, timely project execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical/Mechanical/Systems) required.
• 8+ years in Military or Aerospace engineering, or 6+ with direct military experience.
• Knowledge of electronic components, interconnects, high-speed cabling, sensors, high-reliability systems.
• Experience with full product development cycles and rapid prototyping.
• Proficiency with 3D design tools such as Creo, SolidWorks, SpaceClaim, or AutoCAD.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and electrical schematics.
• Strong project leadership, organization, communication, negotiation, and customer-facing skills.
• Willingness to travel domestically as needed up to 50%.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary technical contact between the customer’s engineering team and TE Connectivity, supporting existing products and new product development.
• Build strong relationships with key engineering contacts and decision-makers while understanding the customer’s products, technology needs, and future roadmap.
• Identify new product and design opportunities early in the customer’s development cycle, providing technical guidance and conceptual design support.
• Coordinate customer projects, including product modifications, testing, signal integrity modeling, application evaluations, and product/process qualifications.
• Translate Voice of Customer (VOC) feedback into actionable opportunities and communicate requirements to internal engineering teams.
• Partner with cross-functional global teams across Engineering, Program Management, Quality, Operations, Logistics, Procurement, and Sales to deliver solutions that meet customer needs.
• Serve as a strong customer advocate internally, ensuring technical requirements, timelines, and expectations are understood and supported.
