Job summary

TechNext seeks a Finance & Accounting-focused Functional ERP/Odoo Consultant to own the finance workstream from discovery through go-live and beyond. You will design the chart of accounts, configure Odoo finance modules, map legacy processes, and lead UAT with finance users, while ensuring audit-ready output.

Qualifications

• CPA license is highly preferred (PH CPA or equivalent such as CA, ACCA, CMA).
• 3–5+ years in ERP functional consulting, finance systems implementation or accounting operations with exposure to Odoo.
• Hands-on configuration experience in Odoo Accounting and adjacent finance modules (v14+).
• Strong command of core accounting: GL, AR/AP, fixed assets, intercompany, multi-currency, cost accounting, close cycle.
• Excellent written and verbal English, able to explain system behaviour to accountants and developers.
• Experience preparing functional documentation, test plans and training materials.
• Comfort in a remote-first, fast-paced consulting environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead requirements gathering with finance stakeholders: chart of accounts design, month-end close, year-end close processes, approval matrices, and reporting needs.
• Configure and implement Odoo finance modules: Accounting, Invoicing, Expenses, Payroll, Asset Management, Analytic Accounting and Budgets; cover revenue recognition, 3-way match, landed costs, stock valuation and COGS.
• Set up tax configuration and compliance: VAT/GST/SST/withholding tax, tax reports and returns, e-invoicing regimes such as BIR and LHDN MyInvois.
• Map current accounting workflows into functional specifications, gap analyses and solution designs; advocate standard Odoo over customization where feasible.
• Lead opening balance and master data migration: COA mapping, open AR/AP, fixed assets, inventory valuation, and TB reconciliation.
• Run system walkthroughs, UAT and sign-off sessions with finance users; design test scripts for a full simulated close.
• Deliver role-based training for accountants, AP/AR clerks, approvers and management reporting users.
• Prepare functional documentation: BRDs, configuration guides, accounting policy mapping, test scripts and user manuals.
• Collaborate with tech consultants to specify reports, integrations and customizations: bank feeds, payment files, tax portals, consolidation tools.
• Manage post-go-live hyper-care through the first live month-end close; drive continuous improvement.
• Identify opportunities to expand scope within existing accounts; support pre-sales with demos, scoping and proposals.
