Remote DevOps Engineer: Linux, Ansible & CI/CD

Job summary

BrightLocal Enterprise is seeking an experienced DevOps or systems engineer to join our four-person remote team. You’ll keep the platform running and mature it through IaC, automation, and observability, with a strong Linux background and a knack for AI-supported workflows.

This remote role is based in the Philippines, with occasional travel to our Valencia office; you’ll collaborate across the business, automate pipelines, and support on-call rotations to maintain high availability and security.

Qualifications

• Extensive Linux/Unix system administration experience (Ubuntu).
• Scripting with Shell or Python; deeper programming is a plus.
• Experience with Ansible for configuration management.
• Experience with deployment and CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Ansible).
• Experience working with Docker.
• Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP and SSL networking.
• Database knowledge covering MySQL configuration, administration and disaster recovery.
• Proficiency with AI tools and openness to apply AI in daily work.

Responsibilities

• Maintain production infrastructure and expand automation and virtualization.
• Automate existing systems and manage configuration using Ansible.
• Build, improve and maintain pre-production environments and CI/CD pipelines.
• Improve logging, monitoring and alerting across the platform.
• Monitor and support production systems, including on-call rotation and troubleshooting.
• Address security issues and perform system upgrades in line with our standards.
