Job summary

BrightLocal is seeking an experienced DevOps or systems engineer to join a remote DevOps team reporting to the Engineering Manager. You’ll maintain production infrastructure, automate tasks with Ansible, and evolve CI/CD pipelines while ensuring high reliability and observability.

The role emphasizes collaboration, robust communication, and openness to AI-enabled tooling across day-to-day work. This remote position is based in the Philippines with occasional travel to the Valencia City, Bukidnon

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in Linux/Unix system administration (Ubuntu preferred).
• Scripting with Shell or Python; programming experience is a plus.
• Experience with system automation tools (Ansible).
• Experience with deployment/CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins and Ansible.
• Experience with Docker.
• Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, SSL; ability to configure them.
• MySQL knowledge for configuration, administration and disaster recovery.
• Knowledge of computer hardware and networking systems, and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency with AI tools and openness to applying them.

Responsibilities

• Maintain production infrastructure and expand automation/virtualization.
• Automate systems and manage configuration with Ansible.
• Build and maintain pre-production environments and CI/CD pipelines.
• Improve logging, monitoring and alerting across the platform.
• Monitor and support production systems and participate in on-call rotations.
• Address security issues and perform routine system upgrades.
