Job summary

Reboot Monkey is seeking a Freelance Data Center Technician to deliver on-demand support for global data centers. You will install, troubleshoot, and maintain servers and networking equipment, both remotely and on-site, collaborating with remote teams to ensure high reliability and security.

The role requires hands-on experience with Cisco/Juniper networking, Linux/Windows systems, and a strong understanding of networking principles. Flexibility for non-standard hours and travel may be needed.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in data center operations, freelance-friendly.
• Associate or Bachelor degree in CS/IT preferred.
• Cisco CCNA/CCNP, Juniper JNCIA/JNCIS, or CompTIA Linux+ desirable.
• Willingness to travel to various data center locations.
• Flexibility to work nights/weekends when required.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain servers, networking equipment, and other hardware for optimal performance.
• Monitor data center operations remotely and on-site to minimize downtime.
• Configure and troubleshoot Cisco/Juniper devices for secure, efficient networking.
• Manage Linux and Windows systems, applying patches and security updates.
• Document all tasks and report performance to remote management.
• Implement security protocols and ensure data center compliance.
• Collaborate with remote teams and vendors to improve operations.
