Job summary

MicroSourcing is seeking a Cybersecurity Specialist to monitor security systems and networks, detect threats, and respond to incidents in a remote setup based in the Philippines.

You will conduct vulnerability assessments and assist in penetration testing to identify security gaps, and collaborate with IT/engineering teams to strengthen security controls and compliance across systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity, information security, or SOC-related roles.
• Strong understanding of network security, endpoint protection, and security monitoring tools.
• Experience with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar, Sentinel, or similar).
• Knowledge of common security frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, CIS controls).

Your Role

As a Cybersecurity Specialist, you will:

What You Need

Non-negotiables

Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field

3+ years of experience in cybersecurity, information security, or SOC-related roles

Strong understanding of network security, endpoint protection, and security monitoring tools

Experience with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar, Sentinel, or similar)

Knowledge of common security frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, CIS controls)

Preferred Skills/expertise

Relevant certifications (e.g., Security+, CEH, CISSP, or equivalent)

Experience with incident response and threat hunting

Familiarity with cloud security (AWS, Azure, or GCP security services)

Understanding of vulnerability management tools and processes

Experience working in SOC environments or 24/7 security operations
