Job summary

Go Lean Health seeks a Back-Office Insurance & Prior Authorization Virtual Medical Assistant to support a US nonprofit behavioral health organization remotely from the Philippines. The role focuses on insurance verification, authorizations, and backlog reduction to move patients through enrollment and care preparation.

You will update charts in AdvancedMD, coordinate with bilingual front desk VMA, and ensure compliant documentation throughout enrollment and scheduling.

Qualifications

• Experience with insurance verification and prior authorizations.
• Experience with US commercial insurance plans and Medicaid.
• Experience contacting insurance companies and using payer portals.
• Strong understanding of eligibility workflows and HIPAA.
• Experience using a healthcare EHR or practice-management system.
• Excellent documentation, data-entry, and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple cases independently.
• Fluent English communication.

Responsibilities

• Verify patient eligibility and applicable benefits with commercial insurance plans and Medicaid.
• Review payer information and document verification results in AdvancedMD.
• Initiate and process prior authorization requests.
• Track pending authorization requests through approval or denial.
• Review patient information for nonprofit financial assistance eligibility.
• Conduct outbound follow-up with patients for missing forms.
• Maintain documentation of eligibility status and pending requirements.
• Update patient demographics and insurance information in AdvancedMD.
• Prepare patient charts before appointments and ensure documents are complete.
