Job summary

HGS Offshore Staffing Solutions is seeking a Backend Engineer to design, build and support the systems behind client onboarding and internal Admin platforms.

You’ll work with Go and AWS to create backend services, while maintaining PHP/Symfony apps and migrating them where needed. Expect full lifecycle involvement from design to production support, with a focus on secure, scalable fintech-like systems.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Production experience with Go (Golang).
• Hands-on AWS in a production environment (nice-to-have).
• Experience with PHP and maintaining existing PHP apps.
• Symfony experience is an advantage.
• Experience with CI/CD and automated deployments.
• Experience with Docker and infrastructure as code, preferably Terraform.
• Experience in fintech or regulated industry is a strong advantage.
• Experience with KYC/AML integrations, TypeScript or React is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain backend services using Go and AWS.
• Maintain and improve existing PHP/Symfony applications.
• Integrate with third-party providers (Sumsub, Trulioo, ComplyAdvantage, Salesforce, Sendgrid).
• Manage cloud infrastructure using AWS, Docker and Terraform.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments.
• Ensure monitoring, logging and alerting for applications.
• Improve development tools and processes for the team.
• Identify and fix security vulnerabilities.
• Collaborate with Product Managers and Business Analysts on requirements.
• Participate in code reviews and technical design discussions.
• Contribute to production support and on-call rotation.
• Work with cross-functional teams (Product, UX, Compliance/Risk, Engineering).
