Job summary

TELUS Digital is seeking an AI Safety & Policy Associate to safeguard AI training data. You will join the AI Community as a specialist focused on identifying, labeling, and mitigating risks at the data level to ensure models learn what is right, what is wrong, and what is a gray area.

Your daily work prevents harmful AI behaviours before they reach users, applying safety rubrics, classifying harm types, and verifying facts with external sources.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in any field is required
• Native-level proficiency in your primary language is mandatory
• Minimum English level B1 (Intermediate) to follow guidelines and logs
• Excellent attention to detail for repetitive, high-stakes analysis

Responsibilities

• Safety Annotation: evaluate AI-generated responses and flag bias, misinformation, or prohibited topics
• Harmful Content Classification: categorize types of harm to define boundary lines
• Fact-Checking & Grounding: verify factual claims using reliable sources to prevent hallucinations
• Guideline Application: apply policy documents to edge cases for consistent alignment
• Feedback Loop Participation: report recurring weaknesses to governance and help update safety policies
