Job summary

Global Staff Network is seeking an experienced Accounting & Tax Supervisor to join a full-time role with an Australian accounting firm. You will manage a diverse client portfolio, providing technical review and day-to-day supervision to junior accountants.

The position requires strong Australian accounting and tax knowledge, with hands-on client work balanced by team support, quality assurance, and opportunities for advisory services. Remote work from the Philippines is supported.

Qualifications

• CA or CPA qualified.
• Strong experience in Australian accounting and public practice.
• Advanced knowledge of Australian tax, compliance, and financial reporting for SME clients.
• Experience reviewing work of other accountants and providing technical guidance.
• Experience managing a client portfolio while supervising a small accounting team.
• Previous experience in a Supervisor/2IC/Senior Accountant role is desirable.
• Familiarity with cloud accounting and practice management software such as Xero, MYOB, or QuickBooks.

Responsibilities

• Manage an individual portfolio of SME, company, trust, and individual clients while remaining actively involved in billable client work.
• Prepare and finalize financial statements, income tax returns, BAS/IAS, and FBT returns.
• Handle complex Australian tax matters, including Division 7A, CGT, trust distributions, and tax planning.
• Review accounting and tax work prepared by junior team members to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Provide timely technical guidance, constructive feedback, and coaching to team members.
• Allocate and monitor day-to-day jobs within the team to meet deadlines and client requirements.
• Act as the first point of contact for technical queries and escalate complex matters as needed.
• Monitor WIP, turnaround times, workload, and capacity; communicate progress and risks to Team Leader.
• Support the team in meeting lodgment, compliance, and client deadlines.
• Ensure consistent use of firm systems, templates, and procedures.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships and identify advisory opportunities.
