Overview
The Registered Nurse at our natural, functional, regenerative and integrative medicine clinic plays a vital role in providing holistic and patient-centered care. This position involves integrating conventional nursing skills with an understanding and appreciation for complementary and alternative therapies. The RN will work collaboratively with practitioners offering services such as Infusion Therapies, Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, Ozone therapy, nutritional counseling, and other holistic modalities. The ideal candidate is a compassionate, detail-oriented, and proactive individual with a strong commitment to patient well-being and an interest in natural health approaches.
Responsibilities
Patient Assessment and Care Planning:
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical history, current health status, and lifestyle factors.
- Collaborate with practitioners to develop individualized care plans that may incorporate both conventional and alternative therapies.
- Monitor patient progress, document observations, and communicate changes to the healthcare team.
Administering Treatments and Procedures:
Administer prescribed conventional medications and treatments as ordered by licensed practitioners.
- Assist practitioners with various alternative therapies, which may include preparing patients for IV therapy, Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, Ozone therapy, or offering guidance on nutritional protocols (under the direction of qualified practitioner).
- Perform standard nursing procedures such as taking vital signs, and administering injections.
Patient Education and Support:
- Educate patients and their families about their health conditions, treatment plans (both conventional and alternative), and self-care strategies.
- Provide information and resources on natural and alternative therapies, promoting a holistic approach to health and wellness.
- Offer emotional support and guidance to patients navigating their health journey.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with physicians, and other clinic staff to ensure coordinated and integrated patient care.
- Maintain clear and accurate patient records, documenting all assessments, interventions, and communications.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of clinic protocols and best practices.
Maintaining a Safe and Clean Environment:
- Adhere to infection control policies and procedures.
- Ensure the cleanliness and safety of treatment rooms and equipment.
- Manage inventory of medical supplies and assist with ordering as needed.
Professional Development:
- Stay informed about current nursing practices and developments in natural and alternative medicine.
- Participate in continuing education and training relevant to the clinic\'s services.
- Maintain a valid and active nursing license.
- Less than 1 year of experience
- Bachelor\'s degree required
