Job summary

Rama Phosphates Limited is hiring a Regional Agronomist to lead a field-based team focused on brand awareness and fertilizer adoption at the farm level. You will organize demonstrations, run trials, and educate farmers on specialized fertilizers and micronutrients to improve yields.

Responsibilities include training dealers, performing soil assessments, and promoting digital farming tools. Extensive travel to villages and farms is required, with a focus on building strong rural partnerships.

Qualifications

• Post graduation/ Graduation in Agriculture.
• Minimum 5 years of experience.
• Fluency in the local regional language is mandatory (Marathi).
• Valid driver’s license and a two-wheeler for rural travel.
• Ability to build rapport with rural communities and retailers.

Job description

The Regional Agronomist handles team that drives brand awareness and product adoption directly at the farm level. Accountable for team to bridge the gap between the company, local distributors, and the farming community. Your primary focus is executing local marketing campaigns, organizing product demonstrations, and educating farmers on the benefits of specialized fertilizers and micronutrients to increase crop yield. Ultimately to convert consumers and gain product liquidation.

Key Responsibilities

• Crop & Yield Management: Focus on regional cash crops like cotton, sugarcane, soybeans, and high-value horticulture (grapes in Nashik, bananas in Solapur, onions, and citrus in Vidarbha).
• Market Development: Design and run product demonstrations, field trials, and crop nutrition programs to showcase company fertilizers, Micronutrients and PGR
• Technical Training: Conduct regular workshops and training sessions field officers, and dealers in local languages (Marathi)
• Soil & Pest Advisory: Perform soil health assessments and implement region-specific Integrated Nutrient Management (INM) frameworks.
• Digital Farming Adoption: Deploy precision agriculture tools, mobile apps, and data systems to provide scalable remote advisory.

Daily Routine

• 80% Field Travel: Daily visits to villages, farms, and retail hubs.
• 20% Administration: Data entry, report writing, and inventory tracking of marketing materials.
