Job summary

Citibank (Switzerland) AG is seeking a Rec & Proofing Analyst 1 trainee in the Philippines. The role requires a solid grounding in accounting processes, strong analytical ability, and clear communication to coordinate with the team and business partners.

You will perform daily ledger reconciliations, prepare reconciliation packages, and help drive process improvements in a fast-paced environment. You will work under guidance, applying established precedents and contributing to accurate financial

Qualifications

• CPA or commensurate local accreditation.
• Experience in accounting, preferably in the financial services sector.
• Knowledge of US GAAP and other comprehensive bases of accounting.

Responsibilities

• Daily reconciliation of general ledger balances to the sub-ledger.
• Preparation of reconciliation package.
• Identify and clear accounting exceptions and mismatched items.
• Analyze recurring issues and assist in developing process improvements.
• Monitoring status of aged breaks on balance sheet accounts.
• Exercise sound judgement regarding proper application of accounting principles to reconciliations.
• Effectively communicate with team members, management and business partners.
• Respond to Balance Sheet Substantiation team requests for information.
• Ensure financial reporting deadlines are met.
• Participate in and/or lead projects as assigned.
• Escalate and manage control issues with transparency.

Job description

The Rec & Proofing Analyst 1 is a trainee professional role. Requires a good knowledge of the range of processes, procedures and systems to be used in carrying out assigned tasks and a basic understanding of the underlying concepts and principles upon which the job is based. Good understanding of how the team interacts with others in accomplishing the objectives of the area. Makes evaluative judgements based on the analysis of factual information. They are expected to resolve problems by identifying and selecting solutions through the application of acquired technical experience and will be guided by precedents. Must be able to exchange information in a concise and logical way as well as be sensitive to audience diversity. Limited but direct impact on the business through the quality of the tasks/services provided. Impact of the job holder is restricted to own job.

Qualifications:

• CPA or commensurate local accreditation
• Experience in accounting (experience in the financial services sector a plus)
• Knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and other comprehensive basis of accounting
