Job summary

Qualifications

• Support AR backlog resolution; conduct claim-level research and validate payments and adjustments.
• Own claims through final resolution including appeals, corrections, or write-offs.
• Maintain project trackers and provide regular status updates and next steps.

Job description

This role supports healthcare revenue cycle initiatives from identification through resolution. The position focuses on coding and accounts receivable (AR) backlogs, working closely with RCM leadership and operational partners to organize project work, establish priorities, track progress, and ensure completion.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, comfortable working with large volumes of healthcare revenue cycle data, and able to independently investigate issues and turn findings into actionable recommendations.

• Experience: 3–5 years combined experience in medical coding and AR.
• Knowledge: Strong understanding of AMA CPT, CMS, and ICD‑10 coding guidelines, plus AR resolution processes.
• Skills: Analytical, research, and organizational skills; ability to work independently and efficiently.
• Technical proficiency: Proficiency in Excel, Power BI reporting, and payer portal navigation.
• Preferred: At least one year of AdvancedMD EHR experience (claims center and collections workflows).
• Certification: AAPC certification in coding or billing (non‑apprentice status preferred).
• Coding: Resolve coding backlogs, unbilled encounters, and workflow barriers; ensure timely claim submission within strict 72‑hour TAT.
• Accounts Receivable: Support AR backlog resolution, conduct claim‑level research, validate payments and adjustments, and own claims through final resolution (including appeals, corrections, or write‑offs).
• Reporting: Maintain project trackers, provide regular status updates (sometimes daily), and highlight progress, barriers, and next steps.
• Collaboration: Partner with RCM leadership and operational teams to prioritize initiatives and ensure successful completion.
