Job summary

Treasure Island Industrial Corporation in the Philippines seeks a Packaging Engineer to drive new packaging development and ensure quality in lab, R&D, and production settings. A BS Packaging Engineering degree and 0–3 years of experience in manufacturing are preferred.

You will manage NPD projects for key accounts, translate customer needs into packaging specifications, review material specs, and support line trials and sample preparation to meet customer requirements.

Qualifications

• Preferably 0–3 years' experience in manufacturing under Quality Department, R&D or Laboratory.
• Experience in packaging development projects and product evaluations.
• Familiarity with packaging specifications and quality tests is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Handles up to fifteen (15) New Packaging Development (NPD) projects for top customers.
• Handles up to forty (40) NPD projects for regular customers.
• Oversees revision projects of partner BDO.
• Plans and conducts production line trials for new materials and product qualifications (Flexible/Houseware/Film Extrusion).
• Oversees new product developments and changes per customer requirements.
• Translates customer requirements into a Packaging Material Specification (PMS).
• Reviews packaging material specifications for Flexible department and finished goods specs for Houseware/Film Extrusion.
• Prepares Technical Data Sheets or Material Safety Data Sheets on request.
• Prepares Raw Material Qualification and Product Evaluation reports for evaluation trials and submits to Purchasing/Production/Sales.
• Facilitates preparation of packaging samples requested by customers.
• Performs delamination evaluation of samples and documents results.
• Reviews Work Instructions for quality control tests in Laboratory/Production area and ensures updates.
• Checks and approves digital/wet proofs and LSD color references.
• Creates RM specifications for new RM after evaluation at Production area.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Handles a maximum of fifteen (15) New Packaging Development (NPD) Projects for top/major/key customer accounts.
• Handles a maximum of forty (40) New Packaging Development (NPD) Projects for regular customer accounts.
• Handles all Revision Projects of partner BDO.
• Plans and spearheads production line trials for new raw material and product qualifications or evaluation runs (For Flexible/ Houseware/ Film Extrusion)
• Overseats new product developments and changes or revisions as per the Customers’ requirements.
• Translates all Customer Requirements into a Packaging Material Specification (PMS)
• Reviews Packaging Material Specification for Flexible department and Finished Goods specification sheets for Houseware and Film Extrusion department
• Prepares Technical Data Sheets or Material Safety Data Sheet when requested by Customers.
• Prepares Raw Material Qualification and Product Evaluation reports for respective evaluation trials and submits to Purchasing, Production, and/ or Sales.
• Facilitates preparation of Packaging samples as requested by the Customers.
• Performs delamination of packaging samples submitted by Sales group and provides evaluation results using the Request for Delamination form.
• Reviews all Work Instructions pertaining to the quality control tests being conducted on the Laboratory or in the Production Area and ensure these are updated and followed.
• Checks and approves Digital proof, Wet proof and LSD color references.
• Creates RM specification for new RM after its evaluation at the Production area.
