Job description

We are looking for a skilled and patient-focused Radiologic Technologist to perform diagnostic imaging procedures, operate imaging equipment, ensure quality and accurate results, and provide safe and comfortable patient care while maintaining radiation safety and confidentiality.

Specific Jobs and Duties:

• Prepare Patients for Imaging Procedures: Explain the imaging procedure to patients, answer any questions they may have, and ensure they are comfortable.

• Position Patients: Properly position patients to ensure accurate imaging while considering their comfort and safety.

• Monitor Patients: Observe patients during the procedure to ensure they remain still and are not experiencing any discomfort or adverse reactions.

• Operate Imaging Equipment: Safely operate X-ray machines or other imaging equipment to capture diagnostic images.

• Select Proper Imaging Techniques: Choose the correct imaging techniques and exposure settings based on the type of examination and the patient’s condition.

• High-Quality Images: Ensure that images are of high quality and capture the necessary anatomical details for accurate diagnosis.

• Document Procedures: Accurately record the details of imaging procedures, including patient information, type of examination, and any special considerations.

• Manage Patient Records: Ensure that imaging results and patient records are correctly labeled, stored, and accessible for review by healthcare providers.

• Ensure Confidentiality: Maintain patient confidentiality by securely handling and storing all medical records and images.

• Work with Radiologists: Collaborate closely with radiologists, providing them with high-quality images and any relevant patient information to assist in diagnosis.

• Assist in Procedures: Support radiologists and other physicians during interventional radiology procedures, such as biopsies or the insertion of catheters, by operating imaging equipment.

• Coordinate with Other Departments: Communicate with other healthcare departments, such as nursing or surgery, to coordinate patient care and ensure timely imaging services.

Skills Required

• Proficiency in operating diagnostic imaging equipment including X-ray machines.

• Strong knowledge of imaging techniques, exposure settings, and positioning protocols.

• Ability to produce high-quality diagnostic images with accuracy and consistency.

• Solid understanding of radiation safety standards and protection measures.

• Excellent patient communication skills - able to explain procedures clearly and put patients at ease.

• Keen attention to detail in documentation, image labeling, and record management.

• Strict adherence to patient confidentiality and data privacy protocols.

• Ability to work collaboratively with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare departments.

• Strong observational skills to monitor patients during procedures and respond to adverse reactions.

• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage multiple patients in a fast-paced clinical environment.

• Radiation Protection Officer (RPO) certification is a big advantage.
