WE’RE HIRING: COSMETIC R&D FORMULATOR

We are looking for an experienced Cosmetic R&D Formulator to join our cosmetics manufacturing team.
The role will primarily focus on research, formulation and new product development, while also supporting QA/QC processes, production compounding when needed, and FDA regulatory documentation and compliance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Research & Product Development
- Research, formulate and develop new cosmetic, skincare and personal care products
- Create, test and improve formulations based on product briefs and requirements
- Weigh, measure, mix and process raw materials to create laboratory samples, prototypes and trial batches
- Research, source and evaluate raw materials, active ingredients and alternatives
- Conduct and document stability, compatibility and other required product testing
- Prepare product specifications, formulations, manufacturing procedures and technical documentation
- Support scale-up from laboratory batches to full production
- Troubleshoot formulation and production issues and recommend improvements
- Keep up to date with new ingredients, technologies and industry trends
Production & Compounding
- Perform product compounding and assist with production batches when required
- Accurately weigh, measure, mix and process raw materials according to approved formulations and manufacturing procedures
- Ensure proper handling of ingredients, equipment and materials throughout the compounding process
- Work closely with the production team to ensure consistency and successful transfer of formulations from R&D to manufacturing
Quality Assurance / Quality Control
- Conduct QA/QC checks on raw materials, packaging materials, bulk products and finished goods
- Establish and maintain product specifications and quality standards
- Ensure products consistently meet approved formulations and specifications
- Monitor manufacturing and compounding processes for compliance with GMP and internal quality procedures
- Investigate deviations, quality concerns and non-conformances
- Maintain testing records, batch records, QC reports and other quality documentation
FDA & Regulatory Documentation
- Prepare and maintain technical and regulatory documentation required for FDA compliance and product registration/notification
- Compile formulations, ingredient information, product specifications, COAs, SDS, test results and other supporting documents
- Review product labels, ingredient lists and product information for regulatory compliance
- Assist with new product applications, registrations, renewals and other regulatory submissions
- Maintain complete and organized product dossiers and regulatory records
- Ensure R&D and manufacturing documentation is accurate, updated and audit‑ready
QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree in Chemistry, Pharmacy, Chemical Engineering, Cosmetic Science or a related field
- Proven experience in cosmetic formulation, R&D or product development
- Hands‑on experience in weighing, mixing and compounding cosmetic formulations
- Previous experience in a cosmetics manufacturing environment is highly preferred
- Strong knowledge of cosmetic ingredients, raw materials and formulation processes
- Hands‑on experience or strong knowledge of QA/QC procedures
- Experience with FDA documentation and product registration is highly preferred
- Knowledge of GMP, stability testing, product specifications and manufacturing documentation
- Strong attention to detail, organization and documentation skills
- Able to work independently from formulation and testing through scale‑up and production
- Willing and able to assist with production compounding when required
