The role focuses on maintaining stringent quality standards, driving corrective actions, and ensuring products meet client specifications and safety requirements. You will collaborate with merchandising, vendors, and clients, supervise daily QA activities, review inspections, and conduct audits.

Qualifications

• University graduate preferably engineering degree background.
• Minimum 5 years in product manufacturing, particularly furniture/related industries.
• 3 to 5 years in QA/QC with at least 1 to 2 years in a supervisory role.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily QA operations and uphold quality policy.
• Communicate with clients on QA issues, root causes, and CAPs.
• Plan and control inspection expenses and allocate QA resources.
• Identify causes and corrective actions for production problems.
• Ensure manufacturing specs and in-line production with approved samples.
• Review failed inspections and coordinate re-inspections.
• Report inspection status and nonconformances promptly.
• Conduct factory assessments and audits as needed.
• Work with vendors on corrective actions to meet safety requirements.
• Perform in-house product tests and packaging drop tests.
• Provide weekly work plans to QA Manager.
• Assist Merchandising on sample reviews and reports.

About the role

Southgate Limited (Phil. Representative Office) is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Supervisor to join our operations team in Metro Manila. This is a full-time position that plays a critical role in maintaining and elevating our quality standards across manufacturing operations. As QA Supervisor, you will lead quality initiatives, oversee compliance activities, and ensure that all products and processes meet our stringent quality requirements. This position is fundamental to protecting our brand reputation and ensuring customer satisfaction in the competitive manufacturing and logistics sector.

Key Accountabilities

1. Provide effective supervision of daily operations of QA department and ensure the quality policy is maintained.
2. To communicate with clients directly on QA issues about root causes and propose solutions and CAPs.
3. Plan and control of inspection expenses, organize resources for running the QA department.
4. Identifying causes and corrective actions for production problems found during inspection.
5. Ensuring that size and other specifications for manufacturing are adhered to, and production/fit is in-line with approval samples.
6. Review failed inspection with head of merchandising to identify problems affecting the quality of merchandise and make disposition for re-inspection to ensure that quality standards are met.
7. Daily walk the production, packing and warehousing and container stuffing area and report to vendor management and Connor QA Manager any irregularities noted, example: incorrect stacking of products, incorrect container loading procedure
8. Conduct pre-production, in-line, pre-final and final inspections for all types of furniture, hardlines (apparel, handbag) products.
9. Ensure merchandise is made to sample specifications, is properly assorted, labeled and packaged, confirm cartons are properly marked and exhibit correct destination, department and article / S.K.U. numbers
10. Report inspection status in a timely manner including reports on nonconformance and problems that will affect the client merchandise quality and delivery
11. Upload inspection report in timely manner
12. Provide weekly work plan to Quality Assurance Manager
13. Attend PPM meeting and ensure inspection file is completed before conducting inspection
14. Perform factory assessments (and other factories require audits).
15. Work with vendors on corrective action plans to ensure product adheres to client’s safety requirements as well as improvements needed on the product ensuring issues will not be repeated on the next shipments.
16. Conduct in-house product tests & package in-house drop tests which are necessary to ensure product safety & client requirements.
17. Assist Merchandising Team on sample reviews & issues sample review reports in a timely manner.
18. Work assignment is primarily around NCR, Pampanga, Bulacan, Baguio and may cover other areas as the need arises.

What we’re looking for:

Education & Experience:

• University graduate preferably engineering degree background.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in product manufacturing, particularly in furniture, lighting, or related industries, preferably within large-scale multinational companies.
• 3 to 5 years in QA/QC with at least 1 to 2 years in a supervisory or team-lead role.

Skills & Knowledge:

• Knowledge in hardlines / furniture (or apparel, handbag) products
• Familiar with international quality standards and requirements of US and European clients.
• Good command of English in both verbal and writing
• Strong management and leadership skill, possess strategic and analytical thinking, and high level of initiative and integrity
• Exhibit effective communication skills and have the ability to interact with all levels, both external and internal.
• Good time management and able to work independently.
