Job summary

Viamericas is seeking a QA engineer to assure the quality of enterprise software across web and Windows platforms. You will design and execute manual and automated tests, write robust test cases, and collaborate with Product owners and developers to improve releases.

The role requires 5+ years in similar QA roles, strong analytical skills, SQL server experience, and hands-on AWS and serverless exposure. English B2, FinTech exposure, and excellent communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, IS, IT or related field.
• Highly organized and detail oriented with ability to work independently and develop solutions to problems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated experience working with peers and executives.
• Desired English Level: B2.
• Exposure to the FinTech industry.

Responsibilities

• Implement and develop manual and automated tests for web and Windows apps.
• Design and develop test cases for front-end interfaces, APIs, and backend systems using JavaScript/SQL.
• Collaborate with Product owners and Delivery Director to define automation strategy.
• Identify and document problems, plan test schedules, and participate in design reviews.
• Report bugs clearly and reproduce them easily; write tests for new products and features.
• Review product requirements and contribute to quality improvements.

This position is a technical role within the software development organization focused on assuring the quality of our development products, features, bugs & enhancements. This role must have a solid understanding of the firm’s business, the product development lifecycle and experience implementing enterprise-class software. In this role, you should have an eye for detail and an ability to analyze the functionality of our products. If you are a passionate engineer with a never-ending desire for success, for finding issues before they arrive at the end customer and for being able to teach other team members.

The individual must be driven to achieve results and be proactive. They will be expected to independently anticipate and handle most issues before they become problems and not let things get in the way of achieving the company’s goals. Ultimately, they will design and write high quality tests for our products.

Duties and responsibilities

• Implement and develop manual and automated test for both web and windows applications.
• Design and develop test cases for front-end interfaces, underlying APIs, and backend systems across several programming languages with a focus on JavaScript, ReactJS and /or SQL to address areas such as database impacts, software scenarios, regression testing, negative testing, error or bug retests, or usability in preparation for implementation.
• Work with the Product owners, Delivery Director, and colleagues to define process and strategy associated with automation.
• Identify, analyze, and document problems with program function, output, online screen, or content.
• Plan test schedules or strategies in accordance with project scope/delivery dates.
• Participate in product design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, or potential problems.
• Report bugs to the development team quickly and in a way easy to reproduce.
• Write test cases for new products and features.
• Review and analyze product requirements
• Other duties as assigned.

Information Security Responsibilities

1. • Read, acknowledge and comply with Viamericas Staff Information Security Policy via the Information Security training portal. This should be done within 30 days of hire and repeated annually.
   • Attend periodic Information Security training provided by Viamericas’.
   • Report any event that might be an Information Security Incident: clicked on a malicious link, downloaded and opened a suspicious file, etc.
   • Protect from disclosure all sensitive information, credentials and access to servers to which you have access.

Qualifications

• Experience on test automation tools (Selenium, Serenity, Webdriver, Cucumber, JMeter, Postman, JUnit, PHPUnit, TestNG ).
• Desirable experience with Serverless Framework or Serverless Architectures.
