Job summary

A local construction firm in Metro Manila is seeking a Quantity Surveyor (QS) to manage cost estimation and project budgeting. The ideal candidate will be a licensed Mechanical Engineer with proficiency in AutoCAD and estimation tools. Responsibilities include measuring materials from blueprints, preparing estimates for MEPFS systems, and collaborating closely with engineers and project managers. Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply, and candidates should be willing to start ASAP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• PRC Licensed Mechanical Engineer (RME) is mandatory.
• Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
• Experience in construction, engineering, or MEPFS contracting preferred but not required.
• Proficient in MS Excel and reading mechanical plans/drawings.
• Proficient in QS/estimation software/tools.
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
• Willing to be assigned in Parañaque City.
• Willing to start ASAP.

Responsibilities

• Extract and measure accurate material quantities from blueprints.

• Conduct site visits to verify mechanical work installations.
• Source material prices, request quotations, and negotiate with suppliers/subcontractors.
• Conduct site visits to verify work and evaluate subcontractor billings.
• Compute and assess financial impact of design changes or Change Orders.
• Collaborate with site engineers and project managers to keep projects within budget.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

• Extract and measure accurate material quantities from mechanical blueprints and AutoCAD drawings.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for various MEPFS (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, and Sanitary) systems.
• Create, review, and maintain the project’s Bill of Quantities (BOQ)
• Source material prices, request quotations, and negotiate effectively with external suppliers and subcontractors.
• Conduct site visits to verify actual installed mechanical work and evaluate subcontractor billings.
• Compute and assess the financial impact of design changes or mid-project Change Orders.
• Work closely with site engineers and project managers to handle multiple tasks and ensure the project stays within budget in a fast-paced environment.
