Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 10 years of related mechanical experience in thermal power plants.
• Proven experience leading ISO 9001 process implementations and discipline team leadership.
• ASNT Level II, AWS/ CSWIP welding certifications, and ISO 9001 Lead Auditor credentials are highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and enforce QA/QC processes, quality plans, ITPs, and ISO 9001 quality management systems across plant operations and major outages.
• Conduct day-to-day PM/CM quality compliance checks, daily site inspections, hold-point witnesses, contractor evaluations, and NCR management.
• Lead RCFA analyses, failure trend analysis, establish WPS/PQRs, and manage welding and NDT activities for boiler, turbine, and BOP assets.
• Oversee outage quality readiness and execution, supplier qualifications, EMOC reviews, and QA/QC training for plant personnel.

As Quality Assurance & Quality Control Sr. Specialist (Mechanical), you will direct quality assurance and quality control processes across combined power plant assets to significantly improve plant availability and reliability while reducing forced outages. You will work closely with site engineering, maintenance, operations teams, and external contractors to deliver results, create positive community impact, and develop your skills in a supportive, purpose-driven environment.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

• Develop, implement, and enforce QA/QC processes, quality plans, Inspection and Test Plans (ITP), and ISO 9001 quality management systems across plant operations and major outages.
• Conduct day-to-day PM/CM quality compliance checks, daily site inspections, hold-point witnesses, contractor evaluations, and Non-Conformance Report (NCR) management.
• Lead technical root cause failure analyses (RCFA), perform failure trend analysis, establish WPS/PQRs, and manage welding and NDT activities (boiler, turbine, and BOP assets).
• Oversee outage quality readiness and execution, technical supplier accreditations, Engineering Management of Change (EMOC) reviews, and deliver structured QA/QC training for plant personnel.

To Succeed in this Role, we need someone who:

• Combines deep mechanical expertise with meticulous attention to detail to enforce high quality, safety, and compliance standards during plant operations and overhaul projects.
• Demonstrates strong analytical, problem-solving, and investigative capabilities to execute root cause analyses and mitigate complex technical equipment failures.
• Communicates effectively across multi-cultural teams and collaborates seamlessly with internal plant departments, external contractors, and equipment OEMs.
• Proactively drives continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and technical coaching to elevate site-wide quality culture and operational integrity.

What You Will Need:

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 10 years of related mechanical experience in thermal power plants, with deep exposure to boilers, turbines, and Balance of Plant (BOP) areas
• Proven experience leading ISO 9001 process implementations and discipline team leadership
• ASNT Level II, AWS/CSWIP welding certifications, and ISO 9001 Lead Auditor credentials are highly preferred

Technical / Functional Skills:

• Advanced expertise in boiler/turbine inspections, alignment checks, material testing, creep life management, NDT monitoring, and failure mechanism analysis
• Deep knowledge of Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, ISO 27001), QA/QC plans, WPS/PQRs, and ITP check-sheets
• Strong proficiency in project management, contract/supplier quality accreditation, Engineering Management of Change (EMOC), and technical reporting
