Job summary

AboitizPower in the Philippines is seeking a QA/QC Civil Engineer to implement project quality across instrumentation, controls and construction, ensuring compliance with codes, standards and the Quality Management System. You will support the Project Development and Execution Team to deliver safe, on‑time, within‑budget results and foster positive community impact.

You will lead inspections, review test plans, and document quality procedures while developing staff and ensuring site activities

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Civil Engineer registration is required.
• 5+ years in civil engineering & construction, 3+ years in construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Implements established civil quality procedures, guidelines, standards, and specs.
• Monitors and implements QA/QC management systems for the project.
• Ensures work processes comply with national and international standards.
• Develops standards to perform inspections and tests on procedures.
• Oversees testing methods and maintains high quality across processes.
• Reviews product quality and documents non-conformances for monthly reports.
• Ensures site material quality and procurement aligns with specs.
• Executes Inspection and Test Plans including site and factory acceptance tests.
• Reviews supplier inspection procedures and personnel qualifications.
• Directs technicians and staff to follow quality procedures.
• Coordinates quality audits across teams and trains staff.
• Maintains QA/QC documents: certificates, test results, NCRs, etc.
• Documents data on products, processes, materials, and reliability.
• Troubleshoots and resolves quality control problems.

Job description

As QA/QC Civil Engineer, you will be responsible in implementing project quality to ensure compliance to codes, standards, regulations, equipment specific specifications, and Quality Management System requirements for instrumentation, controls and communication works including manufacturing process, inspection and test plans, material production and construction methodology to ensure safe delivery of quality product or services both on time and within agreed budgets in coordination with the Project Development and Execution Team and contribute directly to transforming energy for a better world. You will work closely with the Project Development and Execution team to deliver results, create positive community impact, and develop your skills in a supportive, purpose-driven environment.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

• Implements the established civil quality procedures, guidelines, standards, and specifications for the project.
• Monitors and Implements the Quality Assurance and Quality Control management system of the project.
• Ensure work processes are in compliance with both national and international standards.
• Develop and determine all standards to perform inspection and tests on all procedures and oversee all testing methods and maintain high standards of quality for all processes.
• Analyze all products and non-conformance processes and evaluate all documents to ensure the maintenance of optimal quality and prepare monthly reports to evaluate performance
• Review the quality of all materials at the site and ensure compliance with all project specifications and quality and collaborate with the department for all material procurement and maintain a quality of materials.
• Ensure the correct implementation of the approved Inspection and Test Plan including site acceptance tests, and factory acceptance tests, and testing and commissioning of the power plant project.
• Review supplier inspection procedures and personnel qualifications.
• Inspecting the final output, comparing it to the requirements, and approving or rejecting the final products.
• Ensure that the quality control related site activities are in accordance with the applicable codes and standards
• Direct, lead or assist technicians, inspectors, and other Company staff to ensure that they perform their duties in line with established quality procedures.
• Direct, lead or assist the effective implementation of all test and inspection schedules and ensure adherence to all procedures and coordinate with various teams to perform quality audits on processes.
• Monitor the progress and effectiveness of the quality control processes and specifications. Recommend and implement improvements when required and training staff to use them
• Responsible for QA/QC documents of the complete project including certificates, calibration, test results, inspection requests, non-compliance reports and site instruction/observations, permanent materials delivered, and other important QA/QC documents.
• Tabulate and document data relating to products, processes, materials, its qualities and reliabilities.
• Troubleshoot and assist to resolve problems relating to quality control aspects.
• Research, study, compile and prepare material on quality control activities, processes and procedures.
• Orient staff, technicians and professionals on the aspects of quality control activities
• Manage to lift all types of equipment and handle the efficient storage of all hazardous materials and perform quality audits as per the required schedule.

What You Will Need:

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• At least five [5] years of combined experience in civil engineering & construction, with at least three [3] years in construction projects.
• Must be a Registered Civil Engineer.

Technical / Functional Skills:

• Proficiency in structural and horizontal system of the plant.
• Strong Skills in Problem Solving and Decision Making.
