About You

We’re seeking an experienced QA/QC Engineer with previous bulk earthworks and lab testing experience, ideally with Tailings Storage Facilities.

As a QA/QC Engineer, you will play a key role in monitoring and verifying quality on site, maintaining accurate documentation, and ensuring that all works, particularly tailings dam and earthworks construction, comply with project requirements. You’ll also liaise with contractors, supervise field and lab testing, and provide timely reports to support successful project delivery.

The Role

We're seeking an experienced QA/QC Engineer to join our team, based in the Philippines. This role will primarily involve working on international site-based projects in Asia and Africa on a fly-in/fly-out (FIFO) roster.

The QA/QC Engineer will be responsible for:

• Monitoring and inspecting all aspects of Tailings Storage Facility (TSF) construction and other mine infrastructure works, with a strong focus on earthworks and geotechnical quality.
• Implementing and managing quality control processes for earthworks and HDPE liner installation to ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.
• Preparing QA/QC documentation, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring quality-related issues are addressed promptly in coordination with the design office.
• Liaising effectively with contractors and site teams to resolve issues and maintain compliance.
• Supporting project delivery through proactive monitoring, reporting, and coordination of QA/QC activities.
• Overseeing and verifying field and laboratory testing of construction materials to ensure compliance with project specifications.

Our Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• A degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in QA/QC roles for mining infrastructure projects, particularly tailings dams or large-scale earthworks.
• Proven understanding of earthworks QA/QC requirements.
• Experience coordinating and reviewing results of laboratory and in-situ testing for earthworks and geotechnical construction materials.
• Experience working on international FIFO rosters.
• Commitment to travel internationally for extended site-based assignments.
• Strong communication and reporting skills.
